[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Words that spring to mind immediately for this new release from By Kenzo are wearable, joyful, easy, floral, juicy and sweet.
I think it’s my favourite so far from the Kenzo iterations – it retains some of the original theme but takes its own, rather different journey. I didn’t think that poppies have much of a scent naturally, but my feeling is that the poppy reference is more of a concept than a replication. The juiciness I detected is from Nashi pear, but what follows is a floral burst that’s strong on gardenia and rose.
Gardenia always seems to give a creamy aspect and I can detect some powdery notes, possibly from the rose. A base of almond wood and vanilla gives the scent softness while jasmine gives it a kind of understated sultry aspect. Apparently, there is some parma violet in there but I didn’t pick it out. I think it’s for anyone who likes their fragrance soft and feminine and if that’s the case, this is an easy and pleasurable wear – for no apparent reason, I thought it was a scent I could sleep wearing. It’s available in 30, 50 and 100ml, starting at £47 HERE, non-affiliate link HERE.
